Moscot nasce nel 1915 a New York grazie a Hyman Moscot, proveniente dall’europa orientale, che iniziò vendendo occhiali con un carretto nelle strade affollate di Manhattan. Questo carretto in futuro divenne l’immagine dell’azienda. Nel 1925 il piccolo commercio divenne un negozio fisico sulla Rivington Street, segnando l’inizio di una lunga tradizione familiare. Il modello di occhiali più famoso è il Lemtosh tartarugato, che in origine era in vero guscio di tartaruga. Nel tempo si sono aggiunti tantissimi altri modelli di successo.
